A motor may produce a growling noise at 40 mph due to several factors, including worn or damaged bearings, issues with the transmission, or misalignment of components. The noise could also stem from tire problems, such as uneven wear or improper inflation. Additionally, it may indicate a problem with the drivetrain or exhaust system. Identifying the exact cause typically requires a thorough inspection by a qualified mechanic.
Wheel bearing/hub assembly
It could be a wheel bearing or the center carrier bearing of the driveshaft.
My CJ7 also makes this noise. I think it is supposed to make that sound at a higher speed (5-20 MPH)
cable could be loose or faulty speedo..
rear wheel bearings are bad
it is bcz of the complaint in the silencer its surface may be filled with dust
if you have a baffel on your muffler( it is a metal plate in your muffler for less noise) you can take off to make it go 3-6 mph faster. you can buy a bitubo egzaust witch is about $85 bucks and makes it go about 10 mph faster or last but not least you can put a bigger cc motor on it. heres is some simple steps without getting a bigger motor. new race exhaust, rollers drive belt and a k&n air filter dont forget to upjet your bike for these mods
50 mph
The abs light is on because you either have an abs sensor bad or a wiring problem or a hub bearing shot. You will hear a growling noise is you have a bad bearing usually a lower speeds like 40 mph. You may also experience a bit of a vibration from 1 wheel.I hope this helps you.
Wheel bearing.
it may be your tire alignment. your tires may need to be re-aligned. a couple of months ago my car started making a rattling noise when we would go about 70 mph on the highway. we found out are tires needed to be aligned again.
You have to rotate the rotors.
