Yes, they are. Believe it or not, the gene that creates the color of black cats also fights off diseases, so black cats generally live long, happy lives. However, I am not sure if the same thing happens with tan cats, because white cats kind of get ill easily, and with blue eyes they are often born deaf, and as you know tan is just pretty much a darker shade of white/cream.
