The "P" on a USA dime is a mint mark indicating the coin was minted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA.
Dimes minted in Philadelphia before 1980 don't have the letter P on them though.
D: minted in Denver. P: minted in Philadelphia.
A "P" on a dime indicates that the coin was minted at the Philadelphia Mint. This mark was introduced in 1980 to distinguish coins produced there, as prior to that, dimes and many other coins did not carry a mintmark unless they were produced at the Denver Mint ("D") or San Francisco Mint ("S"). If a dime has a "P," it reflects that it was minted in Philadelphia for that particular year.
The P in PIN stands for personal.
There is no "you" in P = V x I

? i never saw a dime with a p under the queen.... i dont think so If there isn't usually a P under the queen's head, it certainly has value. You are just unable to use the dime like a normal dime (if that makes any sense).
