The key teaching of Christianity is that Jesus was the Christ, the Messiah sent to earth by God to bring sinners back to Him. This teaching states that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, loved mankind so much that He was willingly crucified in our place. Mankind is sinfull by nature and it took the blood of a perfect sacrifice to make us holy enough to enter into the presence of God. Jesus Christ lived a perfect, sinless life even though He was tempted just as much as we are. He was born of a virgin mother and had no stain of original sin to make Him unclean like we are. He died in our place and was raised back to life by God on the third day after His death. He is the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father (God), except by Him. Just as He was raised in a perfect immortal body, so we too will be raised when He returns to take the church to heaven.
