Ice it for now, an avoid aspirin (but ibuprofen is fine). If the not doesn't change for a week, or if you're having real trouble ambulating (or if the pain is intense), or if think you've damaged a joint in the foot, head for a doctor now. However, if it's a NO for all of those, expect this to take a little while, and even for new bruises to form up. Keep the limb elevated, do as little as possible that hurts you. Icepack 10 minutes on and 10 off -- a lot. You should see an improvement in 1 or 2 days. If it gets worse, or not better in a week, head over for an xray.
