A barium enema uses x-ray for diagnosis. No x-ray should be used during pregnancy, unless the life of the mother is in danger and a specific diagnosis is needed, like after a serious injury. A colonoscopy could could probably be done instead of a BE x-ray. Talk to your OB-GYN doctor/provider.
