You must mean "men"; couldn't be soldiers, if the men were already soldiers (or marines, or sailors, or air force men, or coastguardsmen) then THAT'S WHOSE FIGHTING THE WAR! In order for a quote "Soldier" to quote dodge "the Vietnam War" he'd have to either go AWOL/MISS MOVEMENT/or DESERT; that would be, quote, "dodging the war." Therefore, how many MEN dodged the Vietnam War...answer, would be in the millions. Only 22,000 men were indicted, of those, only 8,000 were convicted; of those only 4,000 men actually went to Federal Prison. In Conscience Objectors; there were well over 170,000 men. The rest of the draft dodgers were men headed for Canada and the College Students of America. College student deferments were by far the most popular and beneficial for the American male of the 1960s. Simply carry 18 units and a 2.0 average, and Uncle Sam couldn't touch ya! Make your teacher angry at you and he'd lower your grades...you'd be tot'n a rifle by the next year (he'd know that too!).
