All US Military pay is determined by rank and the years of service.
Military snipers are paid by their rank and pay grade in the military service.
To best answer your question, anywhere from $16,800 to $50,000 a year depending on several things. No they don't get paid by kills, and they don't do contract work. There is no bonus for being a sniper.
There were no US Marines on the BEACHES at Normandy. There were marine snipers on the highest points on the ships firing at badly placed mines and MG nests along the beach. There were marines operating the main guns on the ships.
Approximately 391,000 US Marines served in the Vietnam War; approximately 14,838 US Marines died in Vietnam.
I have numerous books on D-Day which say US Marines did not fight there. All 4 Marine divisions were active in the Pacific at that

Tough question, and not designed to improve Anglo-American relations, so I'll have a Walfdorf Salad and say that both are very tough, and I would not want to get on the bad side of either. The US Marines are a much larger unit than the UK Royal Marines, but the US is a much larger country, so it may come out much the same in terms of individual toughness.
a bil
There isn't much of a difference as the Marines are both water and ground based Only major differences are ranks, boot camp is harder in Marines, and Navy is all Sea.
Communist countries used female snipers during WW2.
The US does not give out information on SEAL snipers missions. They are all classified.
Obviously this question is completely personal opinion, and ill be as honest as i can. The Marines have great sniper. Whether there the best in the whole US Military, i couldnt tell you for certain. But i can say Scout Snipers are very good. Navy SEALs have also been highly recognized for there sniping abilities. But in my opinion, it is no doubt Delta Force. They are America's #1 Special Operations/Tier 1 unit. You wont hear about there shooting skills though because they are such a classified unit.
Continental Marines.
