The Importance to the allied cause of the battle of the Atlantic Battle of Midway and the invasion of Normandy which do you think contributed most to allied victory and why?

1. The battle for the Atlantic was the most important war for Great Britain. Not against Germany, as the Russians were finishing off Germany without any assistance from Great Britain (another words the Soviet Union could and was defeating Germany, without the UK's help). If the battle for the Atlantic failed...Britain would starve! 2. Midway was important in the Pacific because Midway eliminated the best Japanese airmen and flight deck crews (plus their carriers) in one even stroke. Had those airmen not been destroyed, those pilots and aircrewmen would've caused US defeats at later battles such as Guadalacanal, Santa Cruz Islands, Truk Lagoon, the Philippine Sea, etc. Another words, the Pacific Theater would've been far bloodier for the allies. 3. Normandy has been "marketed" out of proportion to what was the actual intent. Yes it was a giant landing. Yes it was a great operation. Yes it landed allies on Hitler's Fortress Europe. Yes it helped to shorten the war. But the fact is: Britain/US were RACING the Soviets into Berlin! The US/Britain knew Germany was finished, and were already preparing for the cold war with the Russians (Soviets)...the US KNEW that the Soviets would keep any German territory that they took; and they did...they took EAST GERMANY. Hence the Berlin Wall, which finally came down in 1989. Another words, without the D-Day landing, the Russians would've conquered Germany anyway.
