The helicopter. We not only had the latest technology in helicopters but planes and the navy with air craft carriers that assisted in the bombing of North Vietnam and Cambodia, where they would frequently hide on the Ho Chi Minh trail.

Helicopters and jets.

The helicopter made Vietnam the most mobile battlefield in the history of warfare. The jet fighter bombers (all US jet interceptors had been converted to the fighter BOMBER role in Vietnam only) gave US ground forces instant devastating firepower...never experienced by any military force anywhere or anytime in the past.
