The purple triangle was the patch or emblem that Hitler required Jehovah's Witnesses to wear in the concentration camps. Hitler had different patches that he made the prisoners wear according to their identity, such as the star shaped patch that the Jews had to wear. Why Hitler chose the purple upside-down triangle, I do not know, but he did have an especially strong hatred for Jehova's Witneses. He boldly anounced in a speech that he would completely wipe out the Witnesses in Germany. They refused to raise arms against their fellow man and Hitler could not break their integrity.
Yes, the Nazis persecuted Freemasons and often sent them to concentration camps. Within the camps, Freemasons were categorized as political prisoners, and were forced to wear an inverted red triangle on the sleeves of their uniforms.
Hitler and his Nazi regime bitterly persecuted Jehovah's witnesses because they refused to conform to his requirements that they engage in warfare and pledge ultimate allegence to him and his government (an allegence they felt they could only give to their Creator). As a result, although the Witnesses in Germany were peaceful law abiding citizens, they found themselves in direct opposition to Hitler and his plans for world domination. Although Jehovah's Witnesses made no attempt to overthrow the government or participate in any subversive actions, thousands of them were sent to concentration camps, were many of them died, simply because they refused to compromise their christian faith. While few could have known Hitler personally, they recognised that this persecution was in fact Satan's attempt to break their personal integrity to their maker and renounce their beliefs. ======================================================== Jehovah's Witnesses view Hitler as an instrument of Satan. Answer: The Bible states that only Jehova God has the right to judge people, so even though Jehova Witnesses were persecuted by Hitler and his regimen they never tried to hurt him or felt hatred towards him....Eveyone must pay for their sins on jusgment days....
