The several states that rose and fell in what is now the Philippines before the Spanish came undoubtedly fought some wars, but they are poorly recorded in general histories.

England occupied Manila form 1762 - 1764 as part of the Seven Years War.

The Cavite Mutiny in 1872 might be considered a war, as might the Philippine Revolution that began in 1896.

Subsequent wars fought on Philippine soil or in Philippine waters include:

  • 1898 Spanish-American War
  • 1899-1902 Philippine-American War (also called the Philippine Insurrection)
  • 1941-1945 World War 2

You might also consider that the Cold war was waged, in part, in the Philippines.
