after the World War 2 .. the allied forces, although victorious, found themselves in deep economic problems.. besides a lot of infrastructure was destroyed.. and they had to rebuild their nation.. plus there was this other movement -. all across the world -> demand from the masses ( yes within the UK) to justify Imperialism and colonialism..

From an economic front, it was getting harder to sustain colonies.. and from a social perspective - there was this moral imperative and a pressure - to free the colonies..

as a result - India's quest and demands for autonomy from- a British colony - made the inevitable - sooner than later..
