Zeppelins, a type of rigid airship, were primarily used for passenger travel, cargo transport, and military reconnaissance in the early 20th century. Their large gas-filled envelopes allowed for long-distance flights and relatively comfortable accommodations for passengers. Additionally, during World War I, they were employed for strategic bombing and surveillance missions.
