Than there would be more chance of the Nazis conquering all of Europe unless there are other forces to stop them.

Or one could posit that they actually, in fact, lost WWII.

The US won, as the war catapulted it into world military and economic superpower status.

The USSR won, as through the war, they gained hegemony over all of eastern europe, as well as became a global superpower.

But Britain; who's casus belli was to protect Polish independence; who's empire spanned to every corner of the world at the wars outbreak; lost much of its empire within three years of the wars end, mostly due to bankruptcy caused by the war. As a direct result of WWII, Britain was forced to depend on the US to protect it from the Soviets for fifty years after. And at the end of the war, Poland was turned into a Russian puppet state anyway.

So did Britain really win? Not by my count, though they were on the winning team.

Ergo non mutatio

It is probable that the U.S. could still have defeated the Nazis, but the world would be a much different place today. England would have been heavily damaged (even more than it was) if we'd had to fight the Germans on the ground there. It would have been very ugly. ------- Where in the history books does it say that the US defeated the Nazis? The Nazis as we will call them were beaten by the forces of the Allies, who included the US, who besides providing many brave men and women who died in action, provided armour and provisions which we have only just finished paying for.

The RAF had all ready proved in the battle of Britain they had air suppremcy of the lufftwaftte and the Royal Navy was larger than the German navy. Britain's homeguard, troops and commenwealth renforcmenets combined with Winston Churchills "We will never surrender" would have eventually have forced the Germans out. With Hitlers planned Operation Barbrossa in 1941 Britain and her Empire would have defeated the Germans. ( don't forget the British invented and was using "the Radar") that helped alot.

The answer to this question has just been released by a couple of German and Polish exsperts in "War Games" War Games is what the Germans invented to prep for invading France. ( you know the map where you push peices across it and plan your moves/invasion) The Germans invented that and it had great sucess with there planning/invasions.

Two Experts in War Games have taken all known records and data from World War 2 and spent many years studying to see if Germany would of eventuly invaded Great Britain and the answer is "very unlikely"

Great Britain and the British obviously done the unthinkable by taking over more of the world than anyother country ( The British Empire) The British were just to far ahead in terms of Military/soldier power and experience ( you know German troops among many other troops around the world based themselves on the British S.A.S,still do to this very day the British S.A.S are the most copied in the world)

Great Britain being such a small country with such advanced troops/soldiers was a big advantage because the whole out line of Great Britain every single inch was protected and ready for battle. with dragons teeth, mines at sea and on the beaches, barbed wire, and then cannons that fired out 10 miles at sea anything that got within 10 miles of Britain would of been destroyed, also these cannons could of been turned to fire 10 miles inland just incase. add that to the fact the British invented the NAVY and there NAVY was far greater than anyother,so Hitler knew invading by sea was out of the question.

You can NEVER stop an invasion only try and prevent one. The only possible way Germany could of invaded Britain was by the air parachuting troops in. BUT there was far to many problems/dangers with this. One being the British R.A.F ( British also invented the R.A.F) were the best out there so flying over Britain was going to be (and was) a big challenge for the Germans. Hitler even tried flying over Britain and bombing inactive British air bases/landing strips. but the British were one step ahead and built fake movie/film landing strips fully equiped with fake wooden planes in dissused fields. they looked so real from the air that the Germans would bomb them thinking they had destroyed more of the British Air Force but infact they just destroyed decoys. this method had a 70% sucess rate in fooling the Germans. Also another sneaky clever method by the British was to take just 2 men with a high powerd torch, stand in a dark feild and shine the torch from the sky along the ground giving the impression planes were landing and it was a hidden darkend landing strip for the British R.A.F. this was also a very simple method that fooled the Germans. and British invented and was the only people in the world using Radar.

The other trouble with Hitler prachuting troops into Britain would be, that once troops had parachuted in wich ones hadnt been destroyed by the British R.A.F and by troops on the ground. ( bare in mind British home troops the everyday dads and mums of Britain were all trained in Gurella Warfare) all sign posts in Britain ahd been taken down and detstroyed so any foreigners landing in Britain would of been lost. every bridge in Britain was gaurded by the Gueralla Warefare trained home guards and every single secluded part of Britain was coverd by hidden out houses in every wood, river side EVERWYEHERE in Britain was prepared and coverd, they left no stone unturned. Its estimated that if Germany invaded by air that 150,000 troops would of parachuted in, but Britain was also one step ahead and prepared for such an invasion, some of those 150,000 troops would of been killed by the Air Force and some by ground troops, then on landing the British were too prepared ( they had 6 long years to prepare remember) the remaining German troops that would of survived wouldn't of survived long because the British had all entry by sea coverd, therefore the Germans couldn't ship in extra ammunition to there troops. it would of been just a matter of time before the Germans would of been killed or captured as prisoners.

This is the reason why Hitler attacked and bombed by the air, it was pretty much his only option he had against the British.

Well what a question If britain had sided with hitler I believe the following would have happend.

France would have been defeated very rapidly even faster than the germans managed it.

Frances Empire would be divided up between Germany & Britain possibly Italy but I doubt the germans would need the Italians if they had the BE.

The german war machine would have access to the British Empires sources of war material protected by the very large and well equipped royal navy.

Russia would have been invaded by Germany and the UK and once again divded up - Although the russians were able to defeat Germany - It would be unable to do so against a combined UK German force who could rely on massive Luftwaffe and RAF air superiority.

Japan would still declare war on the BE as they needed the British Empires resources. The japanese however would now be fighting a British empire which could focus on the Asian theatre of war and rely upon both RN RAF & German air & Naval support to help match the IJN navy.

Britain in this case would not lose as many colonial positions as previously. And the Japanese could expect to be push backed and defeated in short order by a heavily militarised Britain and Germany.

The final question is how the BE and Germany would deal with the USA. If they continued their isolation then not much would change.

IF the japanese attempted Pearl Harbour it is likely that the USA would defeat Japan and come to mutual agreement with Germany and the BE about the state of the world.

It is my opinion that the USA would not be interested in engaging in a TOTAL war against established european powers who are half a world away unless they were directly engaged. personally the UK and Germany would probably leave the USA be.

Poland. Germany had previously agreed in the Munich Agreement that if they were allowed to annex Sudetenland of Czechoslovakia they would not invade anywhere else. The Agreement was signed by Germany, Italy, Britain and France. Italy was allied with Germany so Britain and France declared war when Hitler invaded Poland in direct violation of the agreement.

What would have happened to Poland if Britain had not gone to war over them?

What happened to Poland was not affected in the least bit by the British declaring war over the German invasion of Poland. Britain was too far away to help the Poles in any way whatsoever. Germany was between Poland and Britain. So what happened to Poland would have happened if the British had not declared war. The Russians invaded Poland from the east two weeks after Germany invaded Poland from the west. Hitler and Stalin were still partners at that point, and had agreed to split Poland down the middle between them. Nobody declared war on Russia over that. I suppose having to deal with Germany first gave Britain and France all they could try to handle. Two years later Hitler obliged by turning on his partner and attacking the Soviet Union, making an "ally" of the Russians in the fight against Germany.
