Vietnam ended when the North drove their tanks onto the South's capital on 30 April 75...completing victory after about 20 years of fighting. Operation Desert Storm lasted less than 2 months, starting in January and ending on or about 24 February 1991. Operation Desert Shield in 1990 was strictly a military build up to enforce the ultimatum (which was Desert Storm). There were NO hostilities (involving US Forces) in 1990.
