Who declared war on Germany in WWI?

Well actually, no-one declared war on Germany. Here is what happened:

- A Serbian terrorist assassinated Austrian Archduke Franz Ferdinand

- Austria threatened to declare war on Serbia

- Russia, one of Serbia's allies, threatened to declare war on Austria

- Austria appealed to Germany, one of it's allies, for help

- Germany declared war on Russia and France and attempted to carry out the Schlieffen Plan

- The Schlieffen Plan involved invading Belgium, one of Britain's allies, so both Britain and Australia came into the war
