It wasn't so much as giving into Hitler, but you have to understand the situation the country of Germany was in at the time Hitler came to power. Germany had just came off an embarrasing defeat in WW1 to the allies, and to make things worse the Treaty of Versailles made Germany soley responsible for WW1. The German economy was in a bad way partly due to the reparations the Treaty of Versailles made them pay to the victors. So when Hitler came along people believed in him and what he was saying. The Weimar Republic that was established after the German keiser abdicated his throne was ineffective. Hitler promised stability, jobs, and most of all he gave the Germans a scapegoat, one they could blame all their problems on...the Jews. Hitler protrayed himself as a messianic person. He truly believed that he, and only he would bring Germany out of the embarrasment and shame of WW1. The people of Germany had nothing else to look to and Hitler to the German people seemed like a God send.

What influenced the outcome of ww II?

Refusal of Hitler to give up. Refusal of the Japanese military to give up due to their cultural beliefs. Refusal of the Allies to give up and let the Axis take over the world. Very scary decision to use the atom bomb - fear the Japanese would never give up and millions more would die. Russia's determination to take over countries they took from Hitler and Stalin's determination to get rid of Hitler. The will of the people in dozens of countries, especially Western Europe, England and the United States to win the war. The lack of resources for Japan and Germany to complete the war. Hitler's failure to allow his General's to make their own decisions and carry out their own ideas on winning the war. The ability of the Allies to win battles and outwit the enemy.
