Many believed that it was a "European" war and that it would never affect the U.S. There was an arrogance among the media and certain liberals who believed that Germany was about to stop their aggression. With every nation they conquered, the belief was, "Well surely that's the last one." We now know that Hitler intended to rule all of Europe, build power then he intended to take over the world... including the U.S. and the rest of the American continents.

Unfortunately, we have failed to learn the lessons of WW2 and radical Islam is poised to do exactly the same thing.

also,

if you think about it, the U.S didn't really had a reason or reasons to fight also we were already really involved in WW2 because we supply other allies also and we did what we could and at that time, we only care about the U.S and our allies and have never could of prevented the Holocaust

After the horrors seen in WWI, the US hoped to avoid another such event, and the Americans thought that the ocean would protect them from attack. This, however, was not the case, because destruction hit on the 7th of December in 1941 when Japanese planes bombed Pearl Harbour and many U.S. ships were sunk. German submarines also sank freighters carrying supplies of the East Coast.

The US avoided entering World War 2 because they knew too well what another war would have in store for them, and that it would be easier for the nation to just avoid getting involved.
