The invasion of Poland by the Soviet Union in 1939 was part of a secret protocol in the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, which divided Eastern Europe between Germany and the USSR. Western Allies, particularly Britain and France, were focused on countering Nazi Germany's aggression and were hesitant to engage in a conflict that could lead to a broader war. Additionally, the geopolitical landscape and military considerations at the time made direct confrontation with the USSR less feasible, leading to a more cautious approach. Ultimately, the focus was on containing the Nazi threat first before addressing the complexities of Soviet expansion.
He was disappionted that Russia didnt declare war on Japan and wanted to control countries in Eastern Europe
they didnt agree with there rules.
It was because they faced many deadly things. They were losing too many soldires and the people of Russia werent happy with that. Russia was being bombed and they didnt want to have other people dying so that took them selves out of the war.
it was being discriminated against because of its communist government, and Soviet Russia pulled out of the war
Germany, Italy and the other minor Axis nations. The only nation the US did declare war on was Japan, the day after Japan attacked the US Naval Base at Pearl Harbor. Three days after the US declared war on Japan, Germany and Italy declared war against the US. That was enough to bring about a state of war between the US and Germany and Italy. There was no need for Congress to declare war back.
Refer to the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact .
Well the war started in 1939 when Germany invaded Poland. To avoid war with Russia from the beginning Hitler made a deal with Russia. So at the beginning of the war Russia didnt come in. (They did come in in 1941 when Germany invaded them) Britain and France were allies with Poland so they declared war on Germany. The US didnt come in until 1942 so the US is a no and Italy was a German ally and was fighting in the Greece and North Africa. So Britain, Germany, Italy, and France were the only countries in the start of the war.
The soviets had a non aggression treaty with Germany, they both invaded Poland from their respective sides, then split it up. Hitler then decided to invade Russia, that is when the Soviets started fighting the Germans.
because russia would get some of Poland to keep, and russia didnt want a war with Germany, so they signed the German soviet pact
To be honest, they invaded anywhere, kinda like Hitler, it wasn't for a reason, it was a bout power. Hitler did invade some places for a reasons ie him and Stalin agreed to split Poland in half when the Nazis invaded, but that didnt happen and thus WW2
When Poland was invaded by Germany in 1939 there was already an agreement between Poland, France and Britain that if Poland was attacked the other two signatories would help. Mr. Chamberlain sent a message to the German government stating that if they did not stop their attacks by a certain time, then a state of war would exist between Britain and Germany. Of course, there was no reply.
