The Germans hoped to bomb Britain into suing for peace .
Honestly, Winston Churchill did alot. But the most well-known contributions included his strong speeches and as referred to in History ' Churchill's Ways'. This was his way of persuading women to keep their and their family's morale up. He used to sleep with the women and raise their spirits. Thanks.

an estimate of 46000 people
Although Britain was never invaded, its major cities were severly bombed. in spetember 1940, and for the next 57 consecutive nights, German bombers attacked british cities. the bombing continued into 1941. the blitz killed 43,000 civilians, but failed to break the spirit of the british people; indeed it hardened their resolve to defeat Germany. the mood was summed up in the slogan 'we can take it.'
They didn't WIN the Blitz. They SURVIVED. The Blitz was the bombing of British cities. So they couldn't win it.

It seemed that the campaign to bomb the airfields was not working, so he wanted to destroy morale.
The people of Norwich at the time of the Blitz were not greatly affected, but 340 people from Norwich were killed in the Blitz.
The RAF won the blitz!!!! YAY! Why - the British had radar giving them forewarning of the approaching German Luftwaffe .

Morale helped Britain defeat Germany because during the Blitz England had to try desperatly hard to help keep citizens confidence up. If they got annoyed and tired of the Blitz they would get lazy and wouldnt want to go to work or do anything apart from the Blitz to stop. If this happened then Britain would have been forced to surrender because there would be no-one to make weapons and everyone would be to fed up to care. To boost peoples morale you could get propagander postcards to encourage you to carry on with what you were meant to be doing and not to give up! Hope this helps!!! xxx
