This was both a civil and a surrogate war. The Democratic South was resisting the take over by th Communist North. Each side had its own sponsors and while they might have wanted reunification, they each wanted it on their terms.

The communist North Vietnamese, backed and supplied by Russia, invaded South Vietnam with the help of militia groups called the Vietcong, attempting to make the whole country communist. The South Vietnamese, supplied and supported by the US, fought back against the North Vietnamese but were eventually defeated after US troops were taken out of Vietnam in 1975.

Viet Nam 1961-1975
how much for the viet nam cong hoa coin in 1963
Over 58,000 US servicemen died during the Vietnam War.
The United States aligned themselves with the United Nations. It also became over involved with the Cold War. The US fought in Korea and the Viet Nam war in response to the Cold War. There were other small skirmishes until the Gulf War and Gulf War 2.
"Ngan Hang Quoc Gia Viet Nam" is Vietnamese for "National Bank of Viet Nam". The wording was used on the coinage (and, presumably, paper money) of the Republic of Viet Nam (South Viet Nam). As there was no South Vietnamese coin with a denomination of "1000", I presume that you are refering to a 1000 Dong bill from South Viet Nam. While I know enough to know that its value would depend at least somewhat on its condition, I do not know what the range would be, nor whether there were multiple issues of 1000 Dong bills.
