The U.S. built B-2 Spirit (Steath Bomber) has to be up there as one of the most expensive planes, if not the most expensive. It cost on average around $740 million at the time (1997). That's not including all of the spares, equipment, software and retrofitting, which bump the price tag up to around $2.1 billion per plane - if you take the whole program cost and divide buy the actual number of planes built.
