I've found that very non-polar solvents like oils (Goo-Gone, gasoline, mineral or vegetable oil) dissolve most adhesives, but there's always stuff like superglue that dissolves in acetone...
Orange oil, Goo-gone, or turpentine, those are my recommendations :-)
