On a 2001 Polaris Sportsman, the fuses are typically located under the front hood, near the battery. You can find them in a fuse box, which is usually a small rectangular cover that can be removed for access. Always consult the owner's manual for specific details regarding the fuse layout and any troubleshooting steps.
Sounds like a dead battery. Try charging the battery, then start.
On a 2001 Polaris Sportsman 400 4x4 ATV, the fuel filter is typically located in the fuel line, near the fuel tank or along the frame. It may be situated underneath the ATV, making it necessary to raise the vehicle for better access. Always consult the owner's manual for specific details and safety precautions when locating and replacing the fuel filter.
No, it will not fit. While it would physically fit it has differernt sensor hook ups and won't work properly. 99-02 Sportsman 400 and 500 share the same transmission. I am not sure about 03-up.
I have a 1999 sportsman 500 and it done the same thing. The problem was the camshaft lobe wore off. The new camshafts are updated to correct this problem, they have a extra oil passage in them.
To adjust the idle on a 2001 Polaris Sportsman 500, locate the idle adjustment screw on the carburetor. Start the engine and let it warm up, then turn the idle screw clockwise to increase the idle speed or counterclockwise to decrease it until you achieve the desired RPM. Ensure the engine runs smoothly without stalling, and make fine adjustments as necessary. Always refer to the owner's manual for specific RPM settings and additional guidance.

i had the same exact problem with my 2001 polaris sportsman 400. It is either your voltage regulator or your stator. With your ATV running disconnect the positive terminal on your battery. IF the ATV quits instantly then its probably your stator.
