The full ratio according to the embossed diagram on my Mac Cat 435 fuel cap is 40:1. Hope this helps.
40:1 with high quality 2-stroke oil mix would be fine. http://store.chainsawr.com/
The fuel mixture for a McCulloch Mac Cat 35cc super 16 is typically a 40:1 ratio of unleaded gasoline to 2-cycle engine oil. This means you would mix 3.2 ounces of oil with 1 gallon of gasoline. Be sure to use a high-quality oil specifically designed for 2-cycle engines.
I have model number 60003816 and I run 3oz of oil to 1 galion of gas. Works good but I'm not positive that's what is recommended. The manual for that chainsaw requires a 20:1 mixture of non-McCulloch two-cycle oil. That is 6.4 oz. per gallon of unleaded gasoline regardless of what it says on the oil container.
The engine computer will try to adjust fuel and timing to make the after cat O2 sensor read properly. With no cat that will be impossible. This will cause the fuel mixture to swing wildly from rich to lean until the point that the computer sets a code. It will then run in a default fuel/timing setting that will be at a reduced power level with lower fuel economy. The engine computer will try to adjust fuel and timing to make the after cat O2 sensor read properly. They monitor the air/fuel mixture before and after the cat converter and communicates with the cpu to help with emissions.
