Kymco scooters are primarily built in Taiwan, where the company was founded in 1963. In addition to its Taiwanese manufacturing facilities, Kymco also has production plants in other regions, including China and Vietnam, to meet global demand. The company is known for producing a wide range of scooters, motorcycles, and all-terrain vehicles.

I personally believe that Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Vespa, Piaggio, Aprilia, Kymco, Bajaj, Lambretta, and Genuine scooters are among the top ten scooter manufacturers.
Kymco's motto is 'Better than Best'.
They are built in china along with everything else in this shiatty world lmfao
Kymco is Kwang Yang Motor Company; a Taiwan company. They have several factories, none are in Japan. For more information on Kymco, view attached link.
I have owned both of these scooters and the pro scooters are much better, That's why they cost more than slam scooters.
You should look at Kymco scooters... they are very reliable and if you should ever need them, parts are readily available. You'll need to decide on what size engine you want depending on your commute. If its a low traffic road that doesnt go over 35MPH... you could look at 50cc scooters. Most places do not require you to have a motorcycle license for a scooter less than 50cc (most 50cc scooters are actually 49cc) which means you also dont have to register it and pay for insurance. If you will only be traveling 45-55, then take a look at some of the 150cc offerings that Kymco has, and for anything over, a 250cc and up is the way to go. Just keep in mind the bigger engine gets less gas mileage. I have a 125cc and it gets about 90MPG. http://www.scootforum.com Register today for great scooter resources such as downloadable owners and repair manuals, tips, and tutorials!
That is not a simple question to answer. I've been riding scooters and motorcycles for almost 60 years - daily. I live in scooter literature on the Net and find the best scooters for the money are not even available in the States. I'm a fan of Taiwanese scooters which offer the best balance price and quality. The largest range of scooter models comes from Kymco - hands down. They sell more quality scooters by far than any other company. The problem is that most of them are not sold in the States nor in most other parts of the world (I've done my research). So if you ask me what is the best scooter based on its power/weight ratio the winner is the Kymco Racing/Movie 150cc. Maybe that's not your criteria. How can you buy one? That's my big frustration. I've tried and been told by the company that the only way is to come to Taipei and buy it locally - taxes and all. And conditions are not better elsewhere in the Orient where dealers have signed agreements not to export their bikes. My grouch is having to pay import duties and local charges twice - which I consider unfair. Anybody agree?
Gas powered scooters can be found online at Extreme Scooters, Trend Times, and Urban Scooters. For a bargain, check out second-hand scooters on Craigslist.
