There is no dipstick on this motorcycle. There is an inspection window called "a sight window" on the bike's right side when sitting on it, a bit forward of the rear brake pedal.
There are two lines on the sight glass. They form the upper and lower oil level indicators. The oil should be at the upper or between the two levels. It happens that the oil level cannot be seen through this small window but it can be cleaned by turning a small screw located in the middle of the sight glass. This turns a small wiper blade that cleans the glass from the inside.

1980 was the first new version of the Goldwing Interstate. It came with the 1100 engine. That lasted till 1983, then the "84's came out with the 1200, good till 1987, then the 1500's. The 1980 Interstate all dressed cost me just $ 5,000.00 here in Canada, those were the day's.

For a 1983 Honda Goldwing 1100, a good choice is to use 10W-40 motor oil, which is suitable for the engine's air-cooled design and operating conditions. It's important to select oil that meets or exceeds the JASO MA or MA2 specifications for motorcycle oils to ensure proper performance and protection. Additionally, synthetic or semi-synthetic oils can offer enhanced performance and protection, especially in varying temperatures. Always check the owner's manual for any specific recommendations or requirements.
Since you didn't mention the exact model, I've researched all four Honda Motorcycle models in 1983, with 1100cc engines. These include the 1983 Honda CB1100F Super Sport 1100 (valued at $3,515 retail), the 1983 Honda GL1100A Gold Wing Aspencade(valued at $3,030 retail), the 1983 Honda GL1100I Gold Wing Interstate (valued at $2,550 retail), and the 1983 Honda GL1100 Gold Wing (valued at $2,420 retail).
