Toro snow blower engines are primarily manufactured by its parent company, The Toro Company, which designs and produces a variety of outdoor equipment. However, some Toro snow blowers are equipped with engines sourced from established engine manufacturers like Briggs & Stratton or Honda. The specific engine used can vary by model and design.
My guess is that the small battery used for such engines would not hold a charge very long in the constant cold weather a snow blower endures.
A guess-timate rule of thumb is 25cc per horsepower. So your snow blower would be about 7 horsepower.
The Craftsman 208cc snow blower engine is typically manufactured by MTD Products, a company known for producing outdoor power equipment. MTD often produces engines under various brand names, including Craftsman, which is a brand owned by Stanley Black & Decker. The specific engine model may vary based on the snow blower's design and features.
A snow blower engine is typically a small, powerful internal combustion engine designed to efficiently clear snow from driveways and sidewalks. These engines often range from 4 to 12 horsepower, depending on the size and type of the snow blower. They can be either two-stroke or four-stroke engines, with four-stroke engines generally being more fuel-efficient and producing fewer emissions. Regular maintenance, such as checking oil levels and replacing spark plugs, is essential for optimal performance and longevity.
A Troy-Bilt snow blower typically requires about 5 to 6 ounces of oil, depending on the specific model and engine type. It’s essential to consult the owner's manual for the exact oil capacity and type recommended for your particular model. Regular oil checks and changes can help maintain the snow blower's performance and longevity.
The engines on the Troy-Bilt snow blowers are made by Zahng-Chen(I am not sure about that spelling). This according to the MTD dealer help line. My opinion is that they are good engines and only time will prove me right or wrong. I personally have sold hundreds of these over the past three years and the only ones that I know of that had major problems had been run into the ground, you do not use a 24" Troy-Bilt for commercial snow removal and expect it to last very long.
