If your 1988 Honda FourTrax 300 only idles with the choke on, it likely indicates a fuel delivery issue, such as a clogged carburetor jet or air filter. The choke enriches the fuel mixture, compensating for insufficient fuel reaching the engine. Additionally, there could be a vacuum leak or an issue with the fuel system, such as a bad fuel pump or fuel line obstruction. Cleaning the carburetor and checking for air leaks are good first steps to diagnose the issue.
choke idle adjustment on 1988 Buick Riviera
under the carb you will see a little black knob. turn it which ever way until the idle gets to the way you want it
To adjust the idle on a 1998 Honda Fourtrax, locate the idle adjustment screw, typically found on the carburetor. Start the engine and let it warm up, then turn the screw clockwise to increase the idle speed or counterclockwise to decrease it. Aim for an idle speed around 1,200 RPM, ensuring the engine runs smoothly without stalling. Always make small adjustments and recheck the RPM to achieve the desired idle speed.
I believe the idle adjustment is on the choke plunger, twist clockwise or counter clockwise.
On the carb, on the bottom side facing out. should be a black knob you can turn with your fingers.
adjust the Idle screw... im not sure where it is on the 1991 model but it exists...
well it depends on whatcarberator you have on it if yours have the choke on the side that you pull up then you idle it by turning the choke after you pull it up if your choke pulls out from the side then look on the right side of the carb and there will be a screw on the right side turn it too the right to get it to idle hope i helped
my 1988 4ws Honda prelude idles low at 600 rpm
If adjusting the idle speed isn't working, check the choke. If that's not it, check the carberator chain. It's a fairly common problem, though the answer usually differs.
No such thing as a magna 750 vtwin. They're a V4, and the idle adjust is a plastic thumb screw pointing down right next to the choke.
Carburetor needs rebuilding, most likely.
That vehicle is throttle body fuel injected, there is no choke or idle adjustments. You have other issues such as a large vacuum leak causing your idle problem.
