No, the plastic from a 1999 Honda 400EX will not fit on a 2001 Honda 300EX. The two models have different frame designs and mounting points for the plastics, making them incompatible. Additionally, the overall dimensions and styling of the plastics differ between the two models. It's best to use plastics specifically designed for the 300EX for a proper fit.
yes i just put one on my 2001 400ex the only thing you really have to do is take the intake manifold and hoen it out some the intake tube is a tite fit but it works
make a 400ex faster put a intake, jets, cam, piston recomend a 416, and take some things off that are heavy
running lean can cause your 400ex to backfire ..if it backfires on deceleration its lean ...if it pops on acceleration its running rich.====carb issues
I have a Honda 300ex and i took the cover off and it seemed to run a little better and have better throttle response
bottom of the motor. if you have a custom skid plate you may need to take it off and cut a hole in it.
You need an 18 mm spark plug socket.
the top and bottom nearest the driver/passenger are on positive screws - have a black cap on sometimes. They can just be screwed off. The opener comes off with two smaller positive screws, then you need to push the bar out - followed by pop out a little piece of plastic which is on the inside on the plastic (looks like a elongated n shape), then slide down the plastic ring, this allows for the plastic to come out on the other side of the glass. Reverse this to fit the glass, which just presses against the rubber.
yes,it sould have a lever on the shifter side to pull strait up. With clutch pulled in.First off Make sure its in neutral & runing.
on the right side of the motor there is a cap with twwo bolts take that off and theres th oil filter it will have a oil line running to it
take the timing chain cover off and with a wire hanger pull it from the bottom to the top sprocket so it doesn't fall.
get a wipe and scrub it off
erase it :)
