No, they will burn out. the wiring, motors and modules are built to run on and withstand 110v. There are rectifiers that you can buy to reduce the voltage to your appliances. Get ahold of a local electrician and explain the problem. I'm sure you'll be able to get some help. You can use 110v appliances in countries that use 220v, IF you have an adapter (step down transformer) ... you cannot plug them directly into the 220v source for several reasons:

1. The plugs won't match up as the power plug configurations are much different

2. The appliances will literally blow up of catch on fire if you exceed the voltage limit

specified on their labels.

If you have moved permanently to India and are staying there, it might be in your best interests to buy new appliances.

How does it change seasons?

This a response to the amount of time that the sun has to warm the earth in different seasons, and how direct the suns rays are on the earth at that location. In temperate zones the sun shines about 14 or more hours in the summer (daytime) heating the earth more than the other seasons and the rays are almost from directly overhead. Spring and fall have fewer close to equinox 12 hr day/ 12 hrs night so there is less heating. Winter the suns rays are more 'slanted' and there is only about 10 hours of daytime so much less heating.

Why is ac converted to dc before use?

Depending on the device to be powered, a.c. current may be used directly, or converted to d.c. Electric lighting, motors, and heating appliances, typicaly use a.c. power directly. Electronic appliances that have bipolar, semiconductor devices, convert a.c. current to d.c. due to the fact that these devices must be connected (biased) in a particular polarity. These devices would be destroyed if connected to a.c.
