dear sir, take the top of the charger inside you will see a 3 amp fuse this is soldered in
if this is blown , solder a new one on the side of the old one i hope this helps,
stefan,
Hi , i have just recently repaired my 18v charger, the fuse inside had blown so i removed it and replaced it with a new one , but did not solder it next to the other i re-soldered new hard wire to the fuse and carefully soldered back into place . I know by doing this i render all warranties that i had. The reason that mine blew in the first place was i had been rubbing a copper pipe with wire wool and bits were going everywhere, and got into the charger, when i tipped the charged onto its side i went bang.( Wire wool must have got inside)
The charger is not impervious to dust and bits of wire wool so keep your charger in a clean environment away from where you are working.
Anyway my charger is OK now.
Please note that i have been electrically trained and i knew what i was doing .I do not condone anyone to make such repairs themselves unless they are competent in their abilities to repair such items.
Regards Paul
How long does it take for an 18v battery to charge
Makita NiMh 14.4V requires 55W Milwaukee 18V Li-Ion requires 110W Dewalt NiMH 24V charger requires 230W
From what I can find, it doesn't look like they sell them anymore.
Little transformers which convert the 240 volts supply voltage to 120 volts are readily available. They are called International Travel Adaptors. One of those would probably be able to handle the small current needed by the 18 volt battery charger. == == This question is too complicated to answer fully without using lots of electrical engineering words that many people would not understand. If there is something that looks like a transformer on the circuit board, it may not be one. It might be a miniature inductive load. (A "choke" in old times terms.) Even if it is a miniature transformer it may not be used for changing the mains voltage to 18 volts. Someone who really understands electrical circuits and the components in them would not be asking this question, so, unless you know exactly what you are doing, leave that charger's circuit board just as it is. This is for your own personal safety and for anyone else who might one day use that battery charger.
you can try it, worse case it just wont power it enough. It will not harm the printer in any way, it just might not have enought "juice" to power it.

Yes
The one towards the long end of battery.
No.
NO, voltage of the charger must match the battery voltage.

The DeWalt DC9PAKIA comes with two 18 volts batteries.
No. The 12V supply will overcharge the 9.6V pack. However, my Drillmaster 18v cordless drill has a charger that reads output 22v.
