There is a dispute about one of the little islands between this island and Greenland called Hans island (obviously between Greenland and Canada). I'm not sure why because there is nothing there :-), and it's too darn cold to live. I think the population of Ellesmore island is something like 100 plus maybe up to 100 more of military origin.
