The eastern Sioux tribes (the Dakota division of the Sioux) were farmers who certainly grew maize and other crops, unlike their western Lakota relatives. Most agricultural tribes had ceremonies aimed at increasing fertility and producing more crops, but I can find no reference to a particular Corn Dance among the Dakota tribes.
A "Corn Dance Song" (Shoko Otiikwe) is recorded for the Zuni tribe and an elaborate ritual (the Green Corn Festival) is recorded for the Creeks of the south-east.
For entertainment, the Sioux Indians made different kinds of Arts and Crafts. This included making paintings, pottery, and basket weaving.

I think that after that Its something called the school dance or something...
The Ghost Dance was a practice of the Paiute or possibly Sioux Indians in the latter part of the Nineteenth Century, Intended to, as the name suggests, conjure up spirits. As far as I know, this has no connection with the Wizard of Oz. Indians play no role in the plot, nor to cowboys . There is a farm background, more down-to-earth.
The Sioux Nation (comprised of seven council fires and sub-tribes) had many spiritual practices. The foundational rituals or ceremonies are the seven rites:The Keeping of the Soul (Nagi Gluhapi Na Nagi Gluxkapi)The Rite of Purification or Sweat Lodge (Inipi)Crying for a Vision or Vision Quest (Hanblecheyapi)The Sun Dance (Wiwanyag Wachipi)The Making of Relatives (Hunkapi)Preparing for Womanhood or Puberty Rite (Ishna Ta Awi Cha Lowan)Throwing of the Ball (Tapa Wanka Yap)The Healing (Yuwipi)-- relatively new. There are literally hundreds of other minor spiritual practices that the Sioux engage in...too many to mention here but you can find them in many fine books.
