I have never heard this before. the only other actress possibly considered for the (Dorothy role) might have been Shirley Temple possibly too cute. there is a persistent rumor or urban legend about one or possibly two hangings- not known if suicide or some form of (captial punishment) that occured during the making of the film and may have survived the editorial cuts- a man is seen hanging from a tree in the haunted Forest of mad jungle bit- but there was so much wild action afoot. There is a rumor of a hanging or hangings taking place on the (oz) sets. look into it!rtarnish on the Yellow brick road.
