Like can the mother name them a totally different name than their own? I want to give my children my great grandfathers last name. The father is okay with it and agrees that would be a great way to honor him Btw I'm the asker of this question, Just giving a little more input on it. Thanks in advance
You can use either your last name or the fathers last name for the child. Neither of my children have my mothers last name, or my fathers for that matter. It is up to you what you want to use.
That decision is up to the parents. There is no law that covers this situation if the mother has not taken her husband's name in marriage.
Angels traditionally do not have mothers and fathers
Yes, I've helped fathers do that
a mother can put any mans name on a birth certificate. usually the mother should put the name of the man with whom she had sexual intercourse with that then resulted in the subsequent conception, pregnancy and finally birth.
Changing your last name is the easiest. No permission needed. Trust me. All you have to do is begin using the new last name everywhere. Including school, applications, doctor office fill out forms etc. The last name will change itself.
Im not sure about other states but in South Carolina no you don't i named my children with a totally different last name than the fathers or mine and his name is on there birth certificates he just has a different last name than them.
his mother's maiden name and of course his fathers last name
When a child is born out of wed lock.is the child last would be the mothers or the fathers last name? fathers name
If he is married to the child's mother the decision is theirs to make, but if he is not married to her the mother decides the child's last name.
Sure, hyphenated last names are becoming very common.WHICH ONE IS THE TRUE LAST NAME

THE ANWSER NO WAY
A mother can bestow any name she likes.
I gave my son my last name. Now the father wants me to change the last name to his. Can the court require me to do change it?
Nope, only if you are married to him
her moms name is Orence and her fathers name is Richard
