The film "Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb" explains a situation in which many innocent lives are threatened. A B-52 bomber plane and its crew received a transmission to bomb cities in the Soviet Union in order to prevent armies from attacking the United States with an atomic bomb. The Soviet leader launched a missile and destroyed a B-52 bomber's radio and fuel tanks, preventing the US Army paratroopers from receiving contact to cancel the plans to bomb the Soviet Union.

It is desired to stop the attack on Soviet Union so their machine, called "The Doomsday Machine" will not wipe out civilization. Because the crew on the B-52 did not receive the message to cancel plans, they drop a bomb over the country and inevitably triggering the Doomsday Machine. According to the Soviet ambassador, life on Earth's surface will be extinct in ten months.

Explosions abruptly finish the film, suggesting that either life was wiped out or other interpretations by the viewer.
