How come Voldemort got put into Slytherin when he is only a half-blood?

he is a direct descendent of salazar slytherin, so the sorting hat probably sensed that. Plus slytherin isn't only for pure-bloods, as Snape was in that house, and he was the Half-blood Prince. Also, even Harry is a half-blood, and he was told by the sorting hat that he would do well in slytherin.

He found all the secrets of Hogwarts and hid many of his hot horcruxes there. He thought of it as his home. His mother died when he was just born. She ran him to the orphinage
