There were picture of neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin walking on the moon. They took pictures of themselves like tourists.
Both the Apollo 11 astronauts spent 21 hours on the moon.
No - its a long standing urban legend.Legend is believed to have been started from stand-up comedian Buddy Hackett in 1994Neil Armstrong himself said he only heard of this in 1995.
Not five, like the common belief that is circling the internet. There were 122 photos taken by the Apollo 11 crew with their Hassellad cameras on the moonwalk, 77 were taken by Neil Armstrong as he was the lead photographer on the mission. Only five of the remaining 45 taken by Buzz Aldrin had Armstrong in the shot. It averaged out the just under one exposure per minute on a 2.5 hour EVA. Future Apollo astronauts took considerably more. Also you misspelled Neil is the question.
The famous historical event on tv in 1969, was the Apollo eleven landing and Armstrong, and Aldrin walking on the moon.
The most important lesson from Apollo 11 was that landing on the moon, walking and working on the surface, and returning safely home was possible.
Armstrong & Aldrin landed on the moon in July of 1969, which is just over 43 years ago.
AnswerArmstrong and Aldrin were on the lunar surface for 21 hours. The actual time spent outside walking on the moon was 2 hours 13 minutes from the time Armstrong set foot on the surface until they both returned to 'Eagle' and closed the hatch.
For walking and landing {dah}
You move forward when walking on a surface, and on a treadmill you stand still.

They landed safely, spent a little over two hours walking on the surface collecting samples and setting up science experiment packages, then came home.
Michael Collins stayed in orbit aboard the Apollo 11 CSM, call sign Columbia, while Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were on the moon's surface.
Neil Armstrong walked on the moon to looking for alive. everyone know this thing.

Like all Apollo astronauts, Armstrong received basic geological training as part of his NASA inititiation. Once they began flying, there was little time for them to study geology or anything else other than the mission plan. Prior to Apollo 11, Armstrong, Aldrin & Collins all received several days of basic geology training. Far less than the PHD the later astronauts earned in geology. Armstrong always said that the landing was the important event of Apollo 11.Walking on the moon, collecting rocks,and taking pictures was secondary to him. If it was up to him, he never would have left the Lunar Module after they landed. However, scientists saw the landing as an opportunity to gain some valuable knowledge in lunar geology. Since Armstrong and Aldrin would only be on the surface for a very short time (2 hours), whatever science there was to be gained by the Apollo 11 landing had to be gathered quickly. The tasks were divided between Armstrong and Aldrin. Aldrin's job was to report on basic mobility issues. This was done to evaluate the suit they wore. After that, he set uop the three experiments while Armstrong gathered rocks, took a few pictures, and reported on the general terraine of the landing site and the area around it that he could see. Scientists felt they knew what types of rocks the astronauts would find, and the astronauts were trained to look for such rocks, mostly so they would know an unusual rock when they found it. Scientists back on earth who studied the rocks said that Armstrong gathered a very good general sample of rocks in the short time allotted to him. He did very wellconsidering the short amount of training he had in geology.
