Starts at 8:30 ends at 3:00
Update: Most schools in Canada start at different times. Depending on the school, area, grade, etc. Schools in my province start from 8:00am to 9:00am and end from 3:00pm to 3:30pm. Not counting Jr. and Sr. kindergarten.
Schooling is a provincial matter and therefore not a Canadian issue (no one Canadian answer) but there are many similarities between the provinces.
In my experience Quebec has the least flexible schooling, the most arcane set of rules and some of them violate Canadian rights and freedoms. So the following may not apply to Quebec.
Generally children must be in school by age 6. This is required by law but that does not always mean it has to be a school building, or a government funded school, there is a lot of flexibility in most provinces.
Many parents have their children in school much younger than age 5 and the trend seems to be having children start much younger than in past generations, some as young as 2 years old. .
School season starts in the Fall, anywhere from late August to mid September and last until April to early July depending on level and type of school. Some do not have such a fixed start and stop date, some are available year round. For the lower levels it is generally Sept to June.
Class times can vary as well, some starting as early as 7am and evening classes as late as 10pm. For the lower levels 8am to 2:30pm would not be unusual.
Again most schooling is not a Canadian issue so you have to check with each Province for details. Having been a student in more than one province through various lower level grades I can attest to the fact that schooling can be very different between the provinces.
In Canada, the school day starts at 7:30 AM. It typically ends around 2:30 PM. However, this can vary from school district to school district.

Depends on where you are in Canada and what time of the year it is. You could get to places where there are 24 hours of daylight and six months later there is no daylight at all. So you can find it at any of the times in between at some point in Canada at different times of the year.
There are only a few video stores that are open 24 hours a day in Canada. There are a few international chains, such as Walmart and Target, that stay open all the time in a few locations in Canada.
