The First Crusade, which began in 1096, saw a significant number of participants face hardships during their journey to Asia Minor. Out of the initial force of approximately 100,000 people, it is estimated that only about 30,000 to 40,000 Crusaders actually made it to the city of Antioch in Asia Minor. Many perished due to battles, disease, and harsh conditions along the way. The significant attrition rate reflects the challenges faced during this arduous expedition.

Many perished due to battles, disease, and hardships along the way. Overall, survival rates were low, and each Crusade experienced different outcomes in terms of survival.
Just about all of them - the 'war' was a pillaging expedition into northern Asia Minor.
Crusaders survived by pillaging towns they went through who weren't "of God". They would steal many items from innocent people on their way to the Holy Land. They would slaughter a farmers' cattle and eat them raw. They would also take all of the women and find the most beautiful one. Then they would all take turns raping her until she died.
The crusaders won the first one but then Saladin called a Jihad onto the crusaders and captured Jerusalem. After that the christians tried to reclaim it but failed almost everytime and when they failed they tried again, and again.
There were 8 crusades all together.
