Difficult question to answer. The Nile has a wet and a dry period - in otherwords it overflows its banks during the wet, and is virtually dry during the dry.

I found reference to a paper which states that the annual water flow over the Aswan Dam (southern Egypt) is 84 billion cubic meters per year - see related link.

  • This is 84,000,000,000 cubic meters of water at 1,000 litres per 1 cubic meter =84,000,000,000,000 litres of water per year.
  • 1 litres = 2.11337642 (US) pints.
  • Which gives you 177,523,619,280,000 pints of water per year.
  • If you have to average that over a year, although not a very accurate indicator it would give you 486,046,488,007 pints at any one day (average) - four hundred and eighty six billion pints on any average day.
