Two identical Mustangs were used in the production. At the time, they were owned by Ford Motor Company and loaned out for the film. One car was scrapped after filming due to liability concerns and the surviving car was sold to an employee of Warner Brothers' editing department. It changed hands several times. Currently in non-working condition, the Mustang is rumored to be in Ohio with an anonymous owner.
