NO IT ISN'T. People have said is is but the distance between the Earth and our Sun is 1 AU which stands for Astronomical Unit which is 150 000 000 km so the distances must be different!

Answer:

1. The Earth is going round the Sun so twice a year the distance is exactly the same.

2. The distance to Alpha C. is 276000 astronomical units therefore plus or minus 1 makes virtually no difference.

What would the parallax angle of Proxima Centauri be if measured from Mars?

When Mars is lined up along our line of sight toward Proxima Centauri, it's about 0.00018 percent closer to it than we are. And when it's on the other side of the sun, on the extended line of sight from Proxima Centauri through the Earth, it's about 0.00093 percent farther from it than we are. Any measurement of the position or motion of Proxima Centauri, or any other star outside the solar system, that's made from Mars, or any other solar system planet, is indistinguishable from the same measurement made from Earth. HOWEVER .... because Mars has a bigger "baseline" than the Earth (due to a wider orbit), the parallax angle would be correspondingly larger.

Was Clone Captain Rex origially called Alpha?

No. Alpha and Rex are 2 different characters. Many people do mistaken Rex for Alpha due to the similarities in color on their armor. But no, they are not the same characters.

Why does taiga have long days in summer and long nights in winter?

I have that same question...but i believe from what I've read, it's most likely because of the earth's tilt. :)

How many miles are there in 10 light years?

The Sun is at a distance of 8 light-minutes; about 150 million kilometers. The next known star (apart from our Sun) is Proxima Centauri, at a distance of 4.2 light-years. . See the Sources and related links below for a link to Wikipedia's list of nearest stars.

How does the position of Earth determine whether a day is one of the solstice or equinox days?

I know this isn't a really good answer, but I need help on the same question too. But, for the answer I got: When the earth rotates.I know that wasn't much help, but it was better than the first answer, right? :)Sorry I wasn't much help!

be larger than Alpha Centauri and farther away from Earth

What two stars have the same temperature?

No one knows for sure, but one possible candidate is the Alpha Centauri system, where Alpha Centauri A and Alpha Centauri B orbit each other at a distance of only 11.2 Au which is the equivalence of our Sun to Saturn.

What is the difference between Alpha Centauri A and Alpha Centauri B?

Alpha Centauri is a binary star system, commonly known as Alpha Centauri ABAlpha Centauri A is about the same size and age as our Sun with a spectral type of G2VAlpha Centauri B is about 14% smaller that our Sun and a lot cooler having a spectral type of K1VThere is a third star, not surprisingly called Alpha Centauri C or Proxima Centauri which is the closest star to Earth.See related link for more information.

Why does Alpha Centauri appear to be yellow-white?

Alpha Centauri A (Rigil Kentaurus) is a type G2V star - which is the same as our Sun so it has a colour of yellow.Alpha Centauri is abinary star system.Alpha Centauri A - the primary star, is a G2V star so has the apparent colour of yellowish-white, the same as our Sun.Alpha Centauri B - the secondary star, is a K1V star so has the apparent colour of yellow-orange.

How far is alpha centari b?

Alpha Centauri AB is a binary star system. It is 4.37 light years away from our Sun. Both Alpha Centauri A and Alpha Centauri B are in close orbit around each other, so the same distance is valid for both.

Is Alpha Proxima the same star as Proxima Centauri?

To my understanding, the Alpha Centauri system contains two binary stars (Alpha Centauri A and Alpha Centauri B) and a third star Alpha Centauri C or Proxima Centauri (which is the closest star to our sun)

What is the closest star to our Sun?

Proxima Centauri is the closest star to our sun-- but it's neighbor, Alpha Centauri, is nearly the same distance.

What type of star is alpha centari?

Alpha Centauri (Rigil Kentaurus, Rigil Kent, or Toliman) is a binary star systemAlpha Centauri A is a G2 star or yellow dwarf - very similar to our own SunAlpha Centauri B is a K1 star or orange dwarf.and possibly a triple star system.Alpha Centauri C (Proxima Centauri) is a M5 star or red dwarfAlpha Centauri (Rigil Kentaurus) is the brightest star in the southern constellation of Centaurus. Although it appears to us as a single object, Alpha Centauri is actually a binary star system.Alpha Centauri A has a spectral type of G2V - so it is a yellow dwarf.Alpha Centauri B has a spectral type of G2V - so it is an orange dwarf.

Are other stars the same as the sun?

One of the closest - in type and distance - is Alpha Centauri A

How long does it take light to travel from Alpha Centaury the nearests star to your sun to your solar system?

4.3 light years===========================Sorry. "Light year" is an answer to "how far", not "how long".Alpha Centauri is about 4.4 light years away from our solar system and everything in it,which means that it takes AC's light about 4.3 years to get here.

Which star is bigger the alpha centauri or the sun?

Alpha Centauri is a binary star system with two stars ("A" and "B") nearly the same mass as the sun. Alpha Centuri A is 1.1 times the mass of the sun (bigger), while Alpha Centuri B is 0.9 times the mass of the sun (smaller).

Are alpha centauri and the milky way galaxy the same thing?

No. Alpha Centauri is the nearest star system to our own solar system at just over 4 light years away.. The Milky Way Galaxy is an enormous collection of stars about 100,000 light years across. It includes our solar system, Alpha Centauri, and about 200 billion other stars.
