A good character as in she isn't evil? Yes.
A good character to play? Yes.
Vi Moore is the wife of Reverend Shaw, and mother to Ariel. She lost a son in a terrible accident, and has a good head on her shoulders. She stands up for the kids when they want to protest their right to have a dance, and she defends Ariel to Shaw. She is wise, caring, but does have a spark of her own fierceness. She is not a push over.
She's a fairly minor character in the musical, but I still had lot of fun playing her. She has 7 lines, and appears in a few scenes. She sings in the chorus for "Footloose/On Any Sunday", "Somebody's Eyes", "Heaven Helps the Man/I'm Free" and the finale. Lulu is the aunt of Ren (Ethel's sister) and the wife of Wes. She allows Ethel and Ren to stay at her house, but does not exactly make them feel welcome. She and Wes are firmly against Ren's plan to lift the ban on public dancing, and blindly follow the lead of Rev. Moore in their opinions. She is also the secretary for the town council.
Only 2 the original and a remake that was not as good.

It really depends on the musical, or setting of the musical. For example, if the musical took place at a festival in mideval times, a good costume could be a jester. A jester coustume should include many different colors and patterns. Or perhaps the musical took place on a bus or subway; A character in a show like that would probably wear everyday clothes unless they were a psychopath or something.
One good country movie is Footloose. There is an original and a new one that are both amazing and inspirational.
Such Good Friends - musical - was created in 2007.
The Good Companions - musical - was created in 1974.

Hmmm.....Usually on auditions for musicals you either have to sing a song from the musical or you're free to choose whatever song you'd like, so I would (if that's the case) choose a song I knew well, liked extremely well and can sing backwards, so to speak....But if it has to be from a musical I would just advice you to take your favorite song from any musical and sing it ;-)Either way I can't tell you what to sing, you have to choose for yourself, you have to be comfortable with the song in every way, you know ;-)But here are some songs you might try if you are comfortable with- and like them:Bet on it (High school Musical 2)Can you feel the love tonight? (The lion king)He lives in you (Lion king)Circle of life (Lion king)Lion sleeps tonight (lion king)Hakuna Matata (Lion king)Don't stop believing (glee)Fame (Fame)Footloose (footloose)Dancing in the sheets (footloose)Holding out for a hero (Footloose)Without Question (El Dorado)the trail we blaze (El Dorado)The road to el dorado (El Dorado)friends never say goodbye (El dorado)Something from Les mis, I dreamed a dream or A little fall of rainor you could do something of Abba from "Mamma Mia!"I hope the answer was satisfying, and I wish you good luck on the audition, break a leg ;-)
