No. Simple. A construction certification is an introductory course for people who want to work in the industry but have little or no experience. It is a good course if you don`t know if you want to be a carpenter, electrician, plumber etc. A Certified Carpenter is one who has been an apprentice for 4-5 years, attended regular training at a trade college or school and after successfully passing has been tested by the State or Provincial Authority. In Canada where I am from, the Canadian Standard is the RED SEAL. It is a matter of pride for trades to reach a Red Seal in their trade. You may go further with university training in finance and management and receive a Gold Seal (very hard to to get) In Europe some refer to this as a Master Carpenter. But I have worked with many State and Union Carpenters who were very good. In Canada a Red Seal is the equivalent to a University Bachelors Degree ... some people say it is not needed or a waste of time ... but never anyone who has a their trade seal. GOOD LUCK
