Yes, a town in Kansas is a tourist attraction for groupies of "The Wizard of Oz" book by Lyman Frank Baum (May 15, 1856-May 6, 1919) and film of 1939.

Specifically, there are at least three towns in Kansas that are known tourist attactions for fans. One is Liberal, where there is a yearly Oztoberfest. The town also has a replica of the Yellow Brick Road, and of the farmhouse where Dorothy Gale lived with Uncle Henry and Aunt Em.

Another town is Sedan, where a road paved with 10,700 bricks was built through the generosity of supporters in all 50 states, and from 28 countries other than the United States of America. The donors' names are listed on the bricks, and they include celebrities such as Whoopi Goldberg, Bob Hope, and Elizabeth Taylor. The mile-long sidewalk gives access to the small town's downtown business community. The downtown is host to Sedan's yearly Yellow Brick Road Festival.

Still another town is Wamego, where there is a yearly OZtoberfest. At the first of these yearly festivals, attendees were able to see memorabilia from the film, such as Dorothy Gale's blue gingham dress, a Munchkin hat, and the pointed hat of the Wicked Witch of the West.

Additionally, the International Wizard of Oz Club's National Convention is meeting on October 2-4, 2009, in Manhatten, Kansas.

No, there's no town that officially is called 'Oz' in Kansas. But Wamego is home to the Oz museum. Wamego is about 100 miles to the west of Kansas City. It's about 10 miles down from the U.S. 40 exit from Interstate Highway 70.
