The comic book/movie is about a super hero. The song is about a man who travels time to see the future of mankind in order to save the world. But on the way back, he was turned to steel in a magnetic field (don't know how). Everyone thought he was a freak then, so for revenge, Iron Man killed everyone.
The comic-book character "Iron Man" first appeared in 1963 - The Black Sabbath song "Iron Man" was released in 1972 - so the character's name could not have come from the song. The song title could have been inspired by the comic-book character's name - even though the subject matter of the song does not follow the comic-book character's story.
Another possible source of inspiration for the song is the children's book 'The Iron Man'. This novel came out in 1968 and was written by Ted Hughes. Newer editions of the book are titled 'The Iron Giant'. In the book an iron mechanoid comes to Earth, reeks some havoc and eventually battles a space-dragon.

The real name of the Ozzy Osbourne Iron Man song is actually Iron Man. He wrote this song before the movie came out, and it was chosen to be used as it was very fitting.
