Yes, actually, there were several. For instance, the Army toyed with "Fun, Travel, and Adventure" fora short time in the early '80's. But, considering what other words can fit with "FTA" they soon dropped the campaign.

FTA came along well before the '80's. I believe it was during the Vietnam War. Fun Travel & Adventure (FTA) became 'Fuq The Army' (FTA) during the Vietnam War protests, and VVAW (Vietnam Veterans Against the War).
